Imperative Tense

       Imperative is used to express an order, command or a question

     1.        Order

Ex.: Study hard!                   Try your best!

     2.       Command

Ex.: Don't react negatively when you are there.                                              Don't make me ridiculous questions.

      3.        Questions

Ex.: Please, pass me the salt.                    Give me another chance, please.

      4.       Let’s = let us = Vamos.   Esta forma inclui a 1ª pessoa (I – eu) na ação.

Ex.  Let’s study this lesson. It’s easy.          Let’s go to the movie theatre. 

  Há também a negative form/ let’s negative:  Let’s not sleep so late. (Não vamos dormir tão tarde) 

Complete the sentences with appropriate IMPERATIVE;                                Use please, if the sentence is a polite request:

Ex: Look_out! A car is coming. (Cuidado! Está vindo um carro.)
